What people are saying about it:

I have just finished reading Sandie George's book 'I Will Rise and Stand.' Once I started to read, it was so compelling I couldn’t put it down 'till finished. Sandie has opened her heart to us: Sadness, loneliness and happiness, very poignant. She is an inspirational authoress. It made me laugh at her adventures and it made me cry. In fact every emotion you can
feel. I do hope lots of people buy this book and read it. One of the best reads I have had this year, all the better for being a true story.
Meg Robson - neighbour

"I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It made me laugh and cry! It is really a lovely warm and humorous life story. It just felt like you were sat in the room with me chatting over a cup of tea. Sandie, congratulations on such a beautiful, professional and courageous book. Here's to the next one!!!"

I have known Sandie George for 42 years! She went to Bible school for 2 years, yet didn't fully understand why. She has just published the reason...her life story "I Will Rise and Stand". She would call it a book for the ordinary people, in many ways she is, yet to God and those who know her she is very special. Get the book. It's all about "ordinary" people facing real problems and winning!  Try her Facebook...Nice one Sandie.

By Valerie B. Sandie's Story of all that has happened in her life touched my heart ~ many of the locations were where I grew up, which brought the Book to Life! This is a Wonderful account, told in such an easy style, with incredible Humility and Honesty of Life's many Sufferings, Forgiveness and Amazing Restoration. A Story many people will read, understand and find great comfort, hope and peace from because they have gone through similar experiences. At the end I cried, it felt as though I had gone through this with her. I recommend as a 'Must' read, I have bought this Book for many people ~ it has touched so many lives already. I feel sure this is just the beginning and there will be many more Books to follow in the future!

I will rise & stand - Sandie George
By Mike Moffat on October 3, 2012
I've known Sandie for almost 20 years now, and to read an account of her challenging earlier life was both fascinating and enjoyable. A true Christian example of how not to give up in spite of many adversities. Well done Sandie, you must be very chuffed how the first part of your autobiography has turned out! When is the next instalment?

There's No Such Thing As Ordinary
By Lottie on September 6, 2012
There's no such thing as ordinary even if it often appears that way. That's Sandie's story. An honest, poignant account of a working class girl, growing up in post war Britain and her life journey since.
Sandie's joys, sorrows, struggles, misses and triumphs are inspiring. Her humour and capers are entertaining. She's not risen to stardom and has often been overlooked in the crowd, but by living for something bigger than herself she's had anything but an ordinary life.
This book will encourage anyone who identifies with being an average, ordinary person and
also believes that their life has value and purpose.
